Now standardized into a 2-Day overnight training event, this Intro to Close Quarter Combat (CQB) Course focuses on home defense, and single person clearing techniques.  You will learn how to apply the fundamentals and tactics taught in a close range environment.  

This course was designed to teach students the necessary skills to “up” their survivability in a CQB environment. You will be learning how to make your home a hard target, utilizing deliberate clearing methods, and learning how to deal with threats specific to the environment you may find yourself in.

We will also thoroughly cover the principles of CQB, & fundamentals of basic room entry within an actual home. You must have a firm understanding of these fundamentals and tactics in order to build a solid foundation for more advanced training.  Your footwork, body movement, generating shooting solutions on the move, and establishing dominance through speed, surprise & violence of action is the core of CQB.

NOTE: The training, tactics, & skills learned on the first day of class will be tested on a flat range to allow shooters to focus on the individual tasks in a building block methodology through live fire drills.

Course Prerequisites:

  • Be legally allowed to carry a firearm in the state of North Carolina

  • Students must be capable of operating all weapons used in training in a safe and competent manner: (Load, Unload, Reload, Reduce Stoppage, Correct Malfunctions, Maintaining Trigger Discipline, and Muzzle Awareness AT ALL TIMES.)

  • Non-Standard Firing Positions

  • Fighting Mindset (Speed, Surprise, Violence of Action)

  • Shot Placement

  • Situational Awareness

  • Scenario Based Training

  • Progressive Breaching

Required Minimum Equipment:

  • Carbine platform w/ sights, optic (red dot), sling

  • 3-5 magazines for both weapon systems

  • Weapons Maintenance Kit

  • Spare Batteries for ALL Kit & Equipment

  • Eye protection (ANSI Z87.1)/ Ear protection (Digital Recommended)

  • 350 rounds minimum (For the second day of training)

  • Suitable Outdoor Clothing

  • Inclement Weather Gear (No Rain Cancellations)

  • Outdoor chair of some type for the 2nd day (Range Day)
